Message from Conference Chair, AeroSEC 2026

On behalf of INCOSE India, it is my privilege to welcome you to AeroSEC 2026, the Aerospace Systems Engineering Conference that is taking place on 27–28 November 2026 in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. AeroSEC 2026 is the INCOSE India Chapter’s first flagship conference of this scale, and it brings together leaders, practitioners, researchers, and innovators from aerospace, defense, space, industry, and academia to share knowledge, forge collaborations, and advance the practice of systems engineering. Our theme, “Advancing Systems Engineering for a Complex and Digital Future,” reflects the accelerating integration of digital technologies, multidisciplinary systems, and rigorous systems thinking required to deliver safe, reliable, and affordable aerospace solutions at scale.

We invite contributions from industry, academia, defense, and space across a curated integration of digital technologies, multidisciplinary systems, and rigorous systems thinking required to deliver safe, reliable, and affordable aerospace solutions at scale. Contributions are welcome, but not limited to complex system management; autonomous systems; AI/ML for aerospace, defense, and space; certification of AI-based systems in aerospace, defense, and space; Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE); digital engineering; digital manufacturing; and digital thread. These topics represent critical enablers of next generation aerospace systems and provide the technical and organizational foundations needed to manage system complexity, shorten development cycles, and assure safety and certification in increasingly autonomous and AI-enabled platforms.

The topics are important today as aerospace systems are becoming more interconnected, software intensive, and data-driven than ever before. Managing complexity requires new systems approaches and MBSE to maintain traceability and design integrity across life cycles. Autonomous systems and AI/ML promise dramatic capability gains but also introduce novel safety, verification, and certification challenges that we must address through research, standards, and shared best practices. Digital engineering, manufacturing, and thread technologies reduce time-to-market, improve reproducibility, and enable continuous lifecycle support. All these are essential for competitiveness and mission assurance in defense, space, and commercial aviation.

Bengaluru is an ideal host for AeroSEC 2026. Approximately 65% of India’s aerospace exports originate from Karnataka. There is a dense ecosystem of premier research and design organizations like DRDO, ISRO, HAL, NAL, ADA, along with major global industry players such as Boeing, Airbus, Honeywell, Collins Aerospace, GE and others in Karnataka making it a vibrant aerospace and R&D hub today. Bengaluru’s concentration of highly skilled engineers, established simulation and research facilities, and a strong record of attracting aerospace Foreign Direct Investment make it uniquely positioned to foster the collaborations and innovations that AeroSEC 2026 aims to catalyze.

I invite you to contribute your ideas, submit papers, attend sessions, and engage in the discussions that will shape our discipline’s future in India and globally. Together, through shared knowledge and collaborative action, we can elevate systems engineering practice, meet complex system challenges, and deliver transformative aerospace capabilities.

Warm regards,

Chairperson
